THE ROAD LESS TRAVELED
On re-examining the worlds soapbox.
I stand acknowledged by a self-inflicted crossroad, where the destination couldn’t be clearer but, of course, we must consider the alternative.
Recollecting the memories of the child I once was, unremittingly slated against ambitions portrayed by artistic- not necessarily – fifth grade doodles as being merely a fantasy far beyond the reach. For much of my existence, I have been inhabited with expressions of what be regarded as acceptance through social norms, accessorized with isolated eruptions on issues beyond consideration of the norm.
In the face of being damned if you do, damned if you don’t: do something and be damned. Be damned for wandering endless roads less traveled where an unknown path of uncertainty lie; the road inflicted with carvings of self-expression or conjuring outbursts of bliss that ray the still horizon without the use of materialistic objects being the culprit.
Instead, the sense of forced awareness on validating ones vision and purpose be portrayed. The purpose far beyond branding oneself with emoji-ridden Instagram bio’s or the use of 140 twitter characters as a basis of identity. Yet through self-education and fulfillment, through life lessons enveloped outside constraints of lecture halls that allow the soul to discover, to be curious as we once did.
Of course, acting on this understanding remains a minefield. For those who I have observed flounder a sense of hope for new age escapism with the intention to transport you to a new sense of self outside the border of social norm, are perhaps those who may have taken the road less traveled.
